World’s first Tiananmen museum opens in Hong Kong

The world’s first museum dedicated to the Tiananmen Square crackdown opened in Hong Kong Saturday with an emotive ceremony and protests from pro-China demonstrators. Almost 25 years after the Chinese authorities’ brutal repression of prodemocracy protesters in Beijing, the permanent exhibition is one of the only places in China where the massacre of June 3 and 4, 1989, can be commemorated. Read more
