China Jails Writer For Five Days Over Comments About First Lady

A writer in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong has been locked up for five days by police for criticizing China's first lady, his lawyer said on Friday. Writer Tian You was taken from his home to the Longxin police station in Shenzhen, close to the internal immigration border with Hong Kong, and prevented from seeing a lawyer, his lawyer Mei Chunlai wrote via social media. Read more
