Lasting cybersecurity a far-off goal as Obama meets Xi Jinping

Hopes of a lasting peace between China and the US over cybersecurity were fading in Washington ahead of a crunch dinner between presidents Barack Obamaand Xi Jinping on Thursday that is aimed at smoothing out their growing tensions. Though both countries are expected to announce a limited agreement to tackle the spread of hacking attacks at the conclusion of their two-day summit, White House officials and independent US experts played down talk of a wide-ranging settlement of their differences ahead of Xi’s arrival. Read more
